Our IMAP South Africa partners Verdant Capital hosted more than 60 corporate finance advisors from around the world in Cape Town last week for the IMAP (International Mergers and Acquisitions Partnership) Spring conference.
Key Capital delegates Richard Tunney and Katie O'Connell share insights from the conference:
Ireland is becoming an increasingly interesting market for Asian buyers - our Indian colleagues are working with a business that bought a Kildare based company recently and are keen on more.
In spite of all of the noise, the North American market is resilient, our US partners had a very strong year in 2024.
The volume of cross-border mandates within IMAP continues to grow, with recent successful deals between our colleagues in Germany & China, South Africa & Belgium, and Chile & Canada all recognised with awards.
The conference agenda was a blend of experts and panel sessions covering:
· Business opportunities across Africa and the thriving fintech ecosystem
· The impact on M&A with the latest geopolitical shocks
· Sharing IMAP deal success stories
· Ideas for greater inter-regional cooperation
· Celebrating deal execution and collaboration excellence
· Bilaterals to share cross-border opportunities and mandates.
Sincere thanks to the team at Verdant Capital and we look forward to our Danish colleagues hosting later this year in Copenhagen.
