Richard Tunney, from Key Capital, commented on the night that what was very clear during the panel conversation is there’s a perception that M&A is about spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations, but there is much more to what we do. You can see for the three panelists there’s an emotional element in a transaction: life decisions, personal decisions, staff, pals, they often get forgotten about but they are key to people making a decision, making the transaction happen and deciding if you’re ultimately happy with it.
